About Truth So Help Me God

About Krista Anderson-Philipps

Krista Anderson-Philipps is the founder, writer, and artist behind Truth So Help Me God. Her work brings together clear reporting, cultural commentary, everyday life, and original art. She lives with her husband, Chris, their white German Shepherd, Hunter, and their tabby cat, Moses.

We seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Truth So Help Me God is an independent editorial and lifestyle publication for original, fact-led work. We explain the forces shaping public life and make room for thoughtful writing about politics, religion, culture, art, food, and everyday life.

Our principles

Independent journalism

We pursue verifiable facts without fear or favor. When reporting, we distinguish sourced information from interpretation, make material attribution clear, and correct factual errors when they are identified.

Structural clarity

Beyond the immediate headline, we provide the context, evidence, and analysis that help readers understand complicated systems, policies, and public debates.

Cultural record

From theatre and the visual arts to literature, design, food, and the rituals of everyday life, we publish criticism and commentary about the work that enlarges how people see the world.

Open debate

Think pieces and opinion are clearly identified. We welcome serious, evidence-based disagreement and make room for perspectives that invite a more thoughtful civic conversation.

We believe a well-informed public is an essential foundation of a free and democratic society.
